surely, your car cant be as stripped as mine :P

no carpet
no stereo
no sound deadening
minimal dash
no headlining
minimal plastics
no a/c
no fan
no heater box
a few unused metal brackets removed here and there
cut down wiring harness
no rear seat
no rear wiper

cant think of anything else at this point, but it took a long time to get that far.

sounds a bit like my AE86. it has two seats, the door trims, dash, pillar trims, sunvisors, and that's about it inside. it's also half caged.

if you haven't already, get all the tar off of the floor. in my sprinter it weighed just over 5kg!! every kg adds up. I'm expecting my car to be about 900kg wet, including the cage.

I think most of the deadening in a S12 is conveniently attached to the back of the carpet (it's about an inch of rubber :|), maybe there is more but i recall only seeing that deadening in mine.
I'm thinking of removing my (already de-gassed) aircon and condenser since that will give me more flow to the rad and less weight, carpet i'm not so keen on since my gf still has to sit in the passenger seat and not hate the car haha.

pull up the carpet, remove the underlay below it,and put it back down then.. ;-)

and you're sure there's no tar on the floor? that's be the first japanese car I'd have ever seen that didn't have any. even N12 pulsars have a couple of kg worth in them.

How did you get your tar off the floor justin?

I did half my silvia with a heatgun and paint scrapers, but it took so bloody long I didnt bother doing the front.

I used a 1" wide wood chisel and a hammer. it DOES take a while, but is worth it when every kilo of weight is important.

a heat gun helps soften the stuff so it comes up more easily, but you want a pretty solid tool to try and scrape/peel/bash it off of the floor with.
a paint scraper may not be strong enough.

and yeah, rip the A/C out. it'll weigh a good 20kg!!! that's not an insignificant amount.

If you get enough heat in it, it comes off with a scraper and 0 effort if you do that.
I recall i did remove some deadening from under the rear seat area (so there is some in the car), it was a piece of cake.

your pics aren't playing the game dude.

i've removed pretty much everything that's not required for track use.

the hardest part however, is once you've striiped all this crap out, you need to regain some sort of F-R weight balance.

BTW sound deadening IS tar.

i spray it on by day, and scrape it off by night!!

it took a week of 5:30pm to 10:00pm stints to get about 95% of it out of my s12. ideally, you need to take the dash out to get the rest.

you dont have HAVE back seats!! providing you've removed the rear seat belts, you should be ok. otherwise, you can have your car rego'd as a 2 seater.

pulling the heater box out of a street car is a bit of a no-no. coz you theoretically have no way of de-fogging the front screen. the cold air duct thing is also a load of bollocks, but then again, i haven't seen it so i cant really judge.

as for the harnesses and bucket, dude, you shoulda seen it coming 8)

best of luck sorting it out, buddy.

hey just wondering about diffs again i've got the live axel model cause i was thinking put an s13 irs diff in would be a bit of an arse. Or is it easier than i think it's going to be? and also when swaping the diffs over would i have get new rear springs.
Also another question is coilovers how easy are they install with still having the standard steering rack?

and finally i got my car back on the road  engineered and all
