Hi guys,

Just trying to decide which of these coupes i should put money into

Silvia S13 K's
180sx
Skyline HR31 Coupe

I Know the Silvia S13 has some grunts with the SR20DET, same deal is for the 180SX, but the HR31 Skyline with its RB20DET sounds fantastic too...

I'm not too sure if HICAS was standard on the S13 range, but im almost certain that its on the HR31....

As for performance wise, i think all 3 are pretty sleek, all making it into the 6's 0-100

Now what do you guys think? Which one should i invest on?

My problem is that, i love the looks of he Silva S13 front, yet i love the looks of the Pop-up light of the 180..... and then i also love the interior looks of the HR31

.......maybe i should just get all 3 :D

Thanks guys
~Alliance

The HR31 has the weakest motor standard, be aware that it's the redtop NICs motor not the silvertop that the later R32 had. Having said that the HR31 is the best to my mind cos they are the least common :) You gots to be different :)

Got the r31 gts-x, and replace the engine with the r32 eninge. The NICS engine sucks nuts. Like said, it's a bit different to the others, there's heaps more s13's than r31's ;) PLus rb20det _ full exhaust = hot sound

Hicas is gay.

GTS-x and GTS-R are way cool, but R31 interiors are fugly.

Woah yeh, GTS-Rs are the best, but I think there are less than 800 in existance!

What about an R31 with an SR20? 8)

Yeah budgets around the 13K area, dont want to go over more than that. Just worries me that because the HR31s are so rare, security might be a problem .... also parts..

Sr20DET in HR31? u think its beta than the RB20DET? i always thought the 6cyc would've pulled a bit harder than the 4s but i could be wrong.

Some thoughts got into my head over the past few days.... what do you guys think of the Toyota Celica 93 model and the 94 model? I know they are no where near as strong and tough, but saves me loads in insurance...

Let me know what you guys think.

HR31 GTS-X Coupe -89
S13 Silvia Ks -89
S13 180sx - 89
Celica SX - 93
Celica SX - 94
Integra - 96

I wonder if anyone tried to turbo a celica 93 SX model... :o could b good :)

93 celica turbo, that would be the GT4 ;)

but any NON GT4 celicas are hair dressers cars. Even then, the GT4's are like obese whales, tipping the scales at 1500kg while power isnt that high.

All cars listed would be higher then average normal commuter cars in terms of insurance, basically cos ur choosing soemthing 'sporty'

Integra is O.K, but most, if not all people on here will tell you to get an 180sx instead of the teggie.

The early RB20 and the SR20 are worlds apart! Even the FJ20 four was considered better than the early RB20. The fact that it is a six cylinder doesnt matter nearly as much as you'd imagine.

My personal preference would be S13 Silvia:
- SR20DET power is a couple of KW less than an RB20DET
- SR20DET torque is more than RB20DET
- Silvia's are slightly lighter than 180SX- no glass hatch

-but-

Dont underestimate a Celica, espechially in GT-4 guise, probably one of the most under- estimated cars every!!!

You have to wander about the condition and quality of a $6000 skyline though....
