Gday,

Can anyone recommend who will do a cefiro rb20 to rb25det engine and gearbox conversion?

Preferably enthusiast workshop that won't charge me for every single hour they work on it and can do me a deal and quote me a price so I know for sure I can keep in my budget.

They should also be able to tell me any issues that are likely to come up instead of halfway through the job. ie. "mate the diff needs mating to x custom blah that'll be $2000" << none of that shit.

I'd be doing transplant of engine, gearbox, also they should be able to install and tune intercooler and some sort of computer or EBC (im leaning towards apexi PFC+EBC module... or just profec EBC but open to suggestions.)

Thanks guys.

Oh I should say - it would help if someone here has had it done there, or if the owner/worker of the shop is active member of a club. In Sydney please.

Thanks.

Autosport Engineering - PM Greg (ITQ-IIK on these forums) or give him a buzz on 95211388

they were going to do my rb26dett into my 180sx, but due to not a single insurance company willing to insure me not even under 3rd party, they r doing an sr20det conversion + 220-250rwkw power upgrade as well

greg is a good bloke and they are very reasonably priced. they can even source a front cut for you if needed. Go and see him and he will work out everything with you and give you a quote as well!

Hope this helps,

Mark

Thanks BLISTC,

Just spoke to him he sounds like a very decent bloke - was happy to spend some time with me going through prices and explaining stuff even though I told him I didn't have a car yet (as I'm budgeting to see if this is feasible).

He even suggested it'd be cheaper to import one already converted, which I already knew, however I didn't expect him to say that!

Sounds like a great bloke with a realistic estimate of price so if I decided to go down this path, or if anyone else does - he's recommended very much so far!!

Sweeeet! Now all i gotta do is find a drift going cefiro for about 7k with all the drift bits and I'll be sweet!

This is a very straightforward swap and there are a few people on this forum who would be able to perform it at a decent price.

Why are you wanting RB25? what is your power goals?

Mate you don't get everything for nothing. You will get charged for every hour labour is not free. If you doing the engine yourself the rest is not that hard if using bolt on parts.

RB25 will go awesome in the Ceffy. You should consider doing the job in your back yard, just have someone come over and do the wiring, take your tail shaft to an engineer and get a few mates over to help put the donk in. :)

And he has since seen the light and bought a Cefiro with an SR20 already in it!

Hmm why would you put a RB25 on a RB26 Block?

I though the RB26 head would flow more...

It may have had an rb25 in there previously and punched a hole in the block. As the rb25 head can be bolted straight onto the rb26 block it means you can run the whole thing off the rb25 loom and ecu without the hassle of doing all the bastard wiring and plumbing again. plus the rb26 has diferent inlet and exhaust bolt patterns so you wouldn't be able to bolt the rb25 inlet and exhaust manifold onto the rb26 head for the same result.
