Umm from my understanding
91 sr20s have no abs or hicas options ?
92+ it was an option to have (ive seen some 92s without abs)
95+ got the black rocker cover motors
97+ type-x... different interior trim, updated exterior panels..

not sure if any come with airbags tho ?

all will have power steering and mirrors and windows etc tho

Your best bet is to follow the link below, as nissan seems to change models and options more than anyone.Production of the whole 180SX range lasted from 1989 to 1999.

One thing that alot of people miss is that 1990 180sx were available with sr20det's. I have rps13000478 (pretty low chasis no eh) and it a 1990 model. Many people/sites state the change over year as 91.

are you sure it hasn't just had an engine swap?

A lot of weird stuff seems to go on in Japan, and not much of it is recorded...

in that case they would have also have to swapped the interior, front bar etc as well, plus my chasis number starts with RPS, pretty sure the ca18det 180sx are KPS (can a ca18 owning 180 owner confirm)

aha! good point :)

Hmmm... it depends on whether the people talking about model changes are going by build dates or sell dates I guess... When they were new in Japan they probably would have gone by sell date, but here we use build date...

Wouldn't the CA18 180s be RS13xxxxxxxx?

AAhh, now the pieces fit. I was quoted it being a 1991 from the japanese buyer, who would have gone off the date first sold, but when imported D.O.T identified it a 1990, presumably based on chasis no.
