victorian cars dont need RWC. ie, pink slips, every year. so i think before they are registered here, they need to pass a blue slip for NSW registration.

some places wont pass BOVs and pod filters, but sometimes they can 'overlook' or 'miss' seeing some mods on a car.

plus then you have the usual CTP and rego costs and stamp duty as you just bought the car.

just ask him to supply it with a NSW blue slip. if you have that you should have no problems registering it here

A family member of mine just bought a car from a different state.

It is very similar to an import. She had to get the guy to cancell the rego from the other state....as they have different laws, then she had to apply for a tempoary rego.....one that lasts 3 weeks and then go get the car checked out by the RTA.

they basically make sure it meets all the laws of australian roads as well as it is not hot.

If it has any BOV's and also airfilters i am sure you will need to take them off when it gets checked over by the RTA as they will not pass it.

The car i am talking about came from QLD to NSW
