No idea who still reads these forums, but I'll give it a go.

Looking to buy a 180SX soon and will be doing a 5-stud conversion + brakes. Will R32 GTR wheels (16x8 +30) fit ok on both stock suspension and lowered with coilovers?

How about moving to a 17x8 +38 (evo IX wheels); or some aftermarket 17x9 +27 wheels?

Thanks
Daniel.

Any of those options will fit. It will come down to personal preference.

Cool, thanks guys. Will i need to run spacers with any of them? I'd prefer not to if i can avoid it.

TMB, you may notice that one of the options are the exact size as your buddy club rims for sale

Spacers to clear the brakes wont be required for the 17x9 +27 or the 16in gtr rims, but it will depends on the spoke design on the evo rims whether they need spacers (although unikely since Evos run big brembos)

Yep I did spot that rim size and offset coincidence :)

Good to see you coming back to the fold Daniel!
(Dunno if you remember but my brother and I bought the engine and gearbox off you after your s15 got written off)

Hey mate, I do remember you (and did see your 180 for sale and would have come to check it out if it hadn't sold this week!). Hope the S15 engine is still going strong in the silvia :)

Yeah i'm looking to get back into an S13 or S14 at a good price. Time to sell the evo and go RWD again!

Damn, would have loved to have sold it to someone on here!

Yep the s15 engine is fine, gearbox shat itself though....oh well.

Its a buyers market at the moment, although theres a lot of thrashed out cars around....good luck!

ouch, that's no good!! Glad to hear the engine is ok though :)

I'm checking out a 180 this week, but yeah there are heaps of shit ones out there. I'm pretty fussy, so if this one is no good i might need to wait/stretch the budget to an S14.

Thanks for the advice on the wheels guys. If i can pick up a set of R32 GTR wheels for every day, then use my evo IX wheels as track wheels (or vice versa), that'd be ideal! If not, TMB you might need to add your wheels to the list of desired items :)

One more n00b wheels question for the 5-stud 180:

Fronts: 17x8 +35 with 225/45/17
Rears: 17x9 +35 with 245/40/17

How will they go?

I think the rears will need slight rolling.

I had 245s on the back of my car with 35 offset and they scrubbed slightly.

Thanks DH. I've got a pair of 235/45 in the garage that i could throw onto the rears to try to avoid scrubbing, but if it's only a little bit, i'm happy to have the rears rolled. Glad to see that all options I've got will fit with no/minimal work! :)
