Hey guys,

im about to do the 5 stud conversion and now am obviously on the search for a new set of wheels.

im willing to pay the money for a good set of jap wheels and would like some advice on what you guys think would suit.

i think a set of SSR SP1's in black with chrome dish would look awesome. i want 18's and like the stretched look but would prefer the rim to sit flush with body work rather then stick out past it.

car body is standard with only rear guards rolled but can be flared if the right rim is found. any help guys. pics of car can be found here http://forum.silviansw.com/viewtopic.php?t=30963&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

TMB - fair call mate at the end of the day it comes down to my choice, was just trying to get an idea of what other people may think would suit.

Jay - thanks for the links dude, really helps.

im guessin a 18 x 8 with say +20, 30 offset would sit flush with guards, when spaced say 20-30mm

so if i got a 18 x 9, 18 x 9.5 an offset of +20 would be perfect to stretch tyre with camber, no flare

^ Why buy bad offset then fix it with spacers, alot of those rims in the links have heaps of diferent offset options...

9+20 or equivilent look good with a lil strech

i had 10+32 at the rear and 9+13, streched tyres, just rolled rear gaurds and a lil camber

what did you end up choosing?
personally i would've just got rid of the tail lights for some type X ones first.

decided on some black work rims with chrome dish

18 x 9 +20 for the front
18 x 10 +30 rear

throw some camber and everything should be sweet.

whyte - got a cheap set of type x lights going or can you point me in the direction of some?

if i can find a set at a resonable price ill buy em, but when the rims are going at close to 4grand i would rather spend the 700-800 that taillights cost getting some rubber.

yeah they are expensive..
i sold the taillights w/ centre piece about 1 year ago for $450 cause thats what i got them for, so ppl wanting like $800+ is ridiculous.

which type of Work rims did you get, post up some pics of the style :P

man wish i could find a set like that. always wanted type x lights but the price like you said is ridiculous and i hate the standard so process of elimination led me to the darker altezza style.

Image

thats the rim there, fitted on standard body like mine.

open to critisism which im sure im gunna get.

the rears in that photo are a 10.5 im pretty sure so mine shouldnt stick out as far i think that one needs a little flare to look even better.

i will flare if need be for tougher look

VS-KF, good choice mate
front needs more camber & more low to be perfect, its sticking out a bit also,
with your offset, you should just be able to get away with a roll or slight flare of the rear guards.

why didnt you get 2nd hand ones for half that price? or do you prefer brand new.
