MY99 WRX vs 94 180sx? Just curious to know who would be quicker between the WRX or the SR20. Both cars pretty much stockish besides maybe and exhaust or minor mods. Not interested in handling, just a straight line race? Any experiences??

Prolly the WRX in a drag with stockish cars. Advantage of 4WD.

Meh im yet to lose to any Subaru... tho i havent raced an STi yet :)

They have always been soft off the line, no more than 5k launches... aslong as u can get a good launch you will be full from all that dining on rex's haha

I've only been in a rex a few times but always thought they were a bit over rated, although they do handle extremely well. What year 180 and mods do you have EXQS_ME? The reason im asking is cos this guy has been talking his rex up and saying my car is shit and he'll be able to smash me. It's only a 96 model, pretty much stock besides maybe exhaust and BOV. I get my license back in 6 days and couldn't think of any thing better than shutting him up.

My car is 94 model, SR20DET stockish - straight through exhaust, BOV....
What are my chances?

Hey Phill..

Not that i condone street racing of course :D

Umm ive only got a few of the usual mods.. fmic/3"/filter ect.. running 12psi they werent too hard, again it came down to them not wanting to launch it and they run out of huff by 3rd..

If he does u from a standing start just offer to run from 60-80km/h.. u shouldnt have too many hassles

MY99 vs 94 180SX, stock for stock, all drivers being equal - The WRX will have no issues beating the 180SX down the quater mile. Even if you threw an exhaust on both cars, WRX will still win.

Back when my SR20 Silvia only had a 3" exhaust, it beat a stock 96 rex by 2 cars +...

Now with 14psi and BOV i can consistently beat a evo 5, but only just and even then he has me by 2 cars off the line and I only pass him in the last 50m. With decent tires i would do better...

A 180/Sil will kick arse on a glorified VW anyday.

Stock for stock, i'd go for the 180. But if it was a MY03, i'd go the rex.

haha guys come on, your treating rex's like they are camry's. When i get my licence back we should have a eastern creek night and i'll show what my rex can do :P

180's look like true sports cars, that a rex can never really have
