It improves feel for some people. Not performance. Big difference

Pads, lines (if yours are shagged), fluid, calipers, bigger rotors, tyres. These things improve braking performance.

I installed a master cylinder brace after the above and it made no difference.

Do you know why? Because i didn't need to stand on the pedal to make the car stop quickly, so reducing firewall flex was not a major concern

Sorry duffage, but your new pads (not necessarily rotors) will have you braking with more consitency for longer.

Your master cylinder brace would have made it feel very nice when you are standing on the pedal wondering why the car isn't pulling up becasue you've overheated your old pads.

I think driving skill is still underrated as the most key to getting low times. Look at the latest MOTOR mag. Some pro drivers are punting bog stock SS/XR6T utes in 1.11s. (Evo X in 1.09.5) On factory tyres too. :-?

sorry duffage, i came across a bit harsh but as i said, performance and feel are 2 different things.

rubbish pads and a stopper are not better than decent pads, ever.

then after a few laps I lose brakes completely

will a stopper help me?
