you're not aiming very high,so the results won't be hard to obtain.

focus on your suspension and brakes. power for those lap times is almost irrelevant. wakefield is a short, technical circuit where handling is everything. the mods you have already power-wise are sufficient.

I did 1'19"s on a bad day in a stock S14,and 1'18"s in a mildly modded AE86 several years ago. going that few seconds quicker with a good setup won't be hard at all.

Swaybars (whiteline adjustables are the easiest to get a hold of, or try K Mac in rockdale), Coilovers (something with reasonable spring rates and a good damper like tein monoflex would be ideal, though a second hand set of the old flex's are ok as well), Reasonable tyres and a decent alignment.

camber arms for the rear. D project

And a bigger radiator. Just Jap or gktech or one of the cheapy 40-50mm ones around

And some decent front pads at the very least.

Get the coilovers second hand and you should be able to do it for well under 3k if your current tyres are ok.

That should see you into the 12-13's with a bit of reliability thrown in with a bit of experience.

Next would be r32 or 33 front brakes and some dedicated race rubber and better front and rear pads, and a few critical gauges like water temp, oil temp and oil pressure, oil cooler, turbo swap, injectors, afm, ecu......

Hey Mate,

A good set of tyres is the single best upgrade you can do. Nothing else will drop your times as significantly for the price.

I assume you aren't going to spend $3k on tyres though, so listen to what those two said ^^ they know their shit.

A good mod which is *free* is practice! Just get to as many days as you can and you will break that time without any more mods 8)

1. Second hand coilovers (still using a second hand set of Cuscos myself - $900)
2. After market Swaybars (new Cusco's are around $700)
3. New Semi slicks. Depending on your rims (size/width) your looking at between $1200 - 1500.
4. DS2500 Ferodos or similar - around $230 for fronts. Changing rears to comp pads will help brake balance and rears around $230 also.
5. Motul RBF600 fluid or similar $25.

my s15 was getting pretty hot, so I guess it's a good idea to have something to cool it down.

I wonder how this diverter pates work...

cheers all

was thinking of getting
s14 radiator
whiteline hd sways 24mm fronts and 20mm rears i think

i have a fairly meaty set of green stuff pads on now
i found an oil temp and oil pressure guages in my shed

my tyres are shagged so i'm up for new ones
is it worth going a larger rim or will 15s do

i think monoflex will stretch my budget
what cuscos and can they be rebuilt in aus

Don't get the JJR radiator, i had one and it lasted nearly a year then it got a leak on one of the cores. Got it replaced under warranty, then i sold it.

Cusco brake stopper from Perfectrun is about 80 bucks landed and it gets here in a week. (best bang for buck mod for brakes i rekon)

Also a lap timer is a great way to teach your self to be quicker.

your the first person ive heard say they actualy felt a difference with a brake master stopper, yet alone "best bang for buck" personaly its rice for your life, $80 is better spent toward's a good set of pad's.

well my set up consists of r33 front calipers, stock rear. Put ebs reds all round, new slotted rotors and brake feel didnt improve at all. Put the brake stopper on, and the firewall flex was solved. I got excellent brake response, bang for bucks i was better off buying the brake master stopper than new pads, rotors.
Don't understand where the rice comment comes from?

I agree, the master cylinder stopper provides a lot more feel as to what the brakes are doing. Mine is incorporated into my strut brace.

What do people think of a Koyo radiator for cooling on a relatively stock S15 like mine?
