I am wanting to buy a 1996 180SX Type-X and was wondering how much a decent quality one would cost?

Cheers

Jay

I was quoted $16,000-18,000 landed for a 1996 180SX by J-Spec imports. This included compliance too.

Any ideas?

can I ask, what is the difference between a Type-X and any other types of 180SX made in 1996-97?

Type X = Turbo
Type S = SR20DE (non-turbo)

Erm...i think there was a Type R. Possibly a no frills turbo model. Not sure though.

I believe the Type R is the same as a Type X but with a sunroof. might be a few minor changes also

OK, next question then...

how much would each model cost?

Type-S: one guy here said he was buying a 96' Type S for $13,990
Type-X: I've been told anywhere from $18,000 to $30,000
Type-R: ???

I picked up my late 1996/1997 180sx Type-X for around $21,000

Heres a brief list of the late model 180's and specs:
Type R = Turbo, wingless, and a few things are options e.g. leather steering, cd player.
Type X = Turbo, with wing, with all options
Type S = Non-Turbo, with wing
Type G = Non-Turbo, wingless

The following link lists the differences in Japanese, but can be transaleted pretty easily with babel.altavista.com
