I've just put some new intercooler piping on my 180sx with ca18.
They have put the BOV outlet in what I think is a stupid place, and I now need to do something about the top radiator hose.
See the following pic:

I have emailed the company I got the pipework from and they have told me that I need to rotate the thermostat housing around.
That doesn't look right to me. If I rotate 120 degrees clockwise, it will hit the timing belt cover. If I rotate 240 degrees clockwise, it will hit the water pump pulley.

Is there any aftermarket housings available that will bring the hose out at a different angle? Or does anyone know of any other radiator hoses that might do the job?

I need a pretty tight kink out of the radiator and then about a 90 degree bend onto the thermostat housing.

If need be I can make up an aluminium section and join with silicon joiners, but I would rather use a radiator hose.

Joshy thats a SR, so the thermostat housing is on the other side

are you sure they gave you the right piping kit, thats pretty stupid.

Even if you rotate the housing its still not going to work :S

thats a s15 fmic piping
best option is to cut that piece off the fmic piping and get it welded up

(that outlet piece is for the s15 stock bov)

I have a tig, so I can weld it up myself.. its just shit that I should have to.
It was meant to be for 180sx and CA18.

I've emailed the mob suggesting that it might be S15, but no doubt I will either not get a response, or they will be unhelpful.

I just can't fathom that somebody would design the pipe in this way for CA18 - right in the middle of the radiator hose.

Thanks for the help lads.

Thanks lads.
Well I modified the pipework and the car is running again.
Better than ever with the plumb back BOV.

Time to get it on the dyno and tune the PowerFC.
