anyone out there got a stock ca18det 180sx muffler i could borrow to get my defect cleared ...

got it booked in at the epa testing centre on the 26th

I have the muffler, but not the whole catback, which you would need I guess.

i have full 3 inch turbo back at the moment which could be a prob

i just need something to bolt up or find a way to get it 90 decibels at 4800rpm ..

dumhed ? ur the tech-head around here ?
what u reckon :)

we already tried a flange restictor gasket and it got 93 db

hmm ..

tried putting a couple of them in?

one each side of the cat, and maybe another if there's a join somewhere else?

get some chicken wire and stuff it up the exhuast just before you go in for the test and it will quiten it down enough to get through the inspection ive done it before and got away with it all i had was extractors and piping with one muffler box on it for show only it had a pipe put inside it so it done nothing. anyway got the car cleared pulled out of the driveway put my foot down light up the rears and the car backfires out pops the chicken wire but that was 10 years ago and the car in question didnt need any pollution gear
