hey guys

my gearbox started whinning recently, when cruising and putting light

load on it, it starts to whine a little. i did a search and i think it might be

the oil im using (lightweight shockproof) that caused it since redline isnt

ment for syncromesh boxes. do i need to replace my bearings or should i

just run gl4-5 rated oil in it, such as motul300? its an s15 6 speed box.

hi

how loud is the whinning..............

i run neo gearbox oil in my car and it works great, I think its better then the redline stuff not as harsh on ur syncros and a lot cheaper.

U should try in blue180

not really that loud, but you can hear it.

or u can get rid of the 6 speed and put a 5 speed in which is a bit stronger.
