 Post subject: blown turbo??? help

this morning i started my car up and warmed it for a few minutes and then drove out of my driveway.. the car being completely stock except for exhaust and intercooler..i have no BOV...i turned out of my estate and hit about 3000rpm in first gear and my car blew off really loudly...it is shooting smoke out the exhaust and i have no power what so ever... i drove it straight home...the car bearly idles and cuts out almost straight away?>? any ideas as to what has happened??

maybe blown turbo? what to do?..

you have a giant air leak. one of your intercooler pipes has come off

what type of joiners are you using silicon or rubber? if its rubber they tend to expand and get pretty floppy and weak once heated up so replace them with their silicon counterparts and you can also try using 2 hose clamps on each end of the joiner instead of 1

do that

and instead of using 2 clamps on each end, try the expensive clamps from plumbing places, they are much better and have less change of slipping than those cheaper worm gear ones

like what zei said, use better clamps, like the steel banded ones, with bolts that run through them and are spot welded onto the band. Tridon make those and are good shiet

you would be looking at $1-2 each, so a whole set is not terribly expensive.
