i just purchased a greedy full auto turbo timer and am having troubles connecting it up.

it has- 1 wire for constent power which i hav
-1 wire for neutral, got
-2 wire for on(start) this is were i get stuck, as the 180 switch has 5 wires and im not sure whibh way 2 connect these 2 up. the first time i connected the acc one up 2 acc and the other to on but as it has 2 on postions it turned of wen switched to on. then wen i did it to the 2 on wires it worked fine but there was traces of smoke from the timer unit even though it was workin.

so yeh im a bit stuck and need mager help oh and how come the keys cant be removed wen the car is still running? this makes me think the timer is pointless

what do you mean the keys cannot be removed ? you use exactly the same procedure as turning your car off with no timer.

This may not help you too much but my apexi timer is also connected to the handbrake as a safety precaution so it cuts the engine if handbrake disengaged.

Just pay someone to install it properly save you fry it which you may be in the process of doing already.

are u using a harness,

you can buy harnesses for the turbo timers and its real easy and simple and saves you all the mucking around.

there is heeps of DIY's on google for if you get the harness. I rekon it's prbably best to do that but it's up to you.

i just finished installin my HKS one yesterday.

in regards to smoke, umm were any of the cables touching??? hook it up, then wrap it up with electric tape and then try again, see if it still smokes up, if its still smokin i suggest u disconnect it asap before u burn out somethin...

i duno if this helps but for some weird reason my turbo timer didnt work until i attached the handbrake cable... it powered up and all but wasn't leaving the car running... very very strange...

so i duno if its worth it but connect it all up and see how it goes..

let me know if you need some more help...

GOODLUCK

Old post or not 8)
The HKS timer wont work properly without the h-brake cable attached if you still have the factory immobiliser fitted/working. The unit works in conjuntion with the factory alarm system.
The workshop manual has the wire colour codes for back of the ignition barrel, then you just tap into the correct ones from there.
