hey guy i was just wonderin why 180's have such low k's for such an old car i mean my 1990 model has 77,000km on the clock and most s13's of the same yr have around the same amount even lower... most people i talk to seem to think that they have been wound back and one mate said it would prob have done over 150,000kms

They have low kays because no one in japan likes driving their cars, its a horrible country for cars with bad roads and all straight traffic. People avoid driving where ever possible.

Welcome to the forums btw

Most likely all of them :)

And seriusly, why not? they are selling cars overseas and no one will ever know how many real KMs they have done. Not too sure about the cases when they supply log books.

I agree with that. anyone who believes the odometer of an import in a car yard is an idiot. they're wound back,or have their clusters swapped for ones out of wrecks.

I'm jealous huh? that's a good one. I guess the stagea in my driveway that I drive everyday doesn't measure up to a 180 huh? and the ae86 'corolla' in the garage is crap too. don't try and read me by my profile on here,as it hasn't been updated in a LONG time, and is far from accurate anyway.

listen up little boy. I've had more decent cars over the years, with 2 S14's in the middle of the list than you've likely had years on this earth. the last thing I'm going to be is jealous of some kid with a 10 year old,$10,000 car. if you think you're a god for owning an old imported hatchback, good luck to you. I'll be over here laughing at you.

either wound back or dash clusters from wrecks you dont see any vl vn commodores with under 150,000kms it always gets me if you get a 180sx or s13 with a std steering wheel its always very badly worn and gear knob as well and torn drivers seat but still only has 75,000kms on the dash but you can buy a hyundi excel with 200,000kms and steering wheel or gear kno has barely worn and no tears in seats??? mmmm

In case you haven't noticed, when people who only have a post count of 3 have a go at a veteran on the forum, they get put back in their place REALLY quickly.
And as much as I love imports, driving a Silvia doesn't make you any better than guys in a corrola. It just means you have different interests

Yeah my 180sx had 70k on the clock when I got it... engine drive like it was 200k old though... if car yards had any sence, they would be pinching the engins with less then 70k on them and replacing them with older stock lying around - then selling off the 70k engines as 2nd hand units... (not sure how easy this is with engine/body number matching, but I don't doubt it happens)

as for the corolla comment... surprised Justin even bothered to answer...
