Hey all, im just after some opinions on the Red 1993 180sx at www.evnyimports.com.au

180 SX (RPS-284)
1993, 57kms, bright red 2 litre turbo manual, 15 inch volk mags, big exhaust, air filter, after market suspension $17990

It seems to be exactly what im after, 1993 model Type III ( has digital climit controll ).........
They said they would sell for $16000, I recon they might even go into the $15k's...

What do yous think ?

Thanks....

So volk rims are good ?

The suspention is coil-overs and is setup for handeling not drifting... (Which is good)

volk is good.
coil overs are good as long as they're still in good nic.

sounds like a good car..

i suggest you get a mechanic to check it thoroughly or nrma for peace of mind. at least you would know if there are hidden costs for more fixes. you would be lucky if you can bring it down to $15K (yes, it seems to be more expensive in sydney) but you can try. the mileage is a bit suz given that it's 10yo car. also to verify the condition of the car, check if the dealer will agree to fix all defects that nrma or your mechanic will find inclusive of the price.

and yes, volks and coil-overs are expensive add-ons if in good nic.

"the body is perfect and there are no dents or scratches and the paint is
great,"
"the car looks and drives like its been really looked after"
"it comes with full compliance, detail, rego and warranty,"

if you can see orange peels on the paint then its been resprayed.

its must have a dent or a scratch otherwise its for sure a respray job...
just be carefull. Have you asked them if its beenn on an accident.

i remember going through xxxxxxx yard and the dude was selling me this 180. its got this its got that. it was nice. Then i asked him.. has it been on an accident..

17.9k i reckon thats a lot for a 93 car, with that money you could possibly pick up a 97 180sx. 15k they will be more than happy to sell it i reckon in their mind, but this is a dealer so they will charge more then private,
if you want a cheap car here already trying looking privately,
if you want a cheaper car than that might like to try importing from a well known importer like prestigemotorsports, you might get yourself a good deal if your lucky. You can also check out http://www.j-spec.com.au for some pricing and ideas. That's just my opinion anyway.
Just keep looking around, its funny when you don't want a car 180sx's popping in your face everywhere then when you look for a car it seems tough.

Thanks ghost, thats so true...

I got the guys at envyimport to send me some more photos of the 180sx...
The wheels on it look very average, which i would replace them anyway and the suspention makes the car sit pretty high, probly still at stock hight so i would replace that aswell...
So these things are not realy selling points to me..

Ive been keeping an eye on the market of 180z for a yr and WAT
$17K for a 93 model? Wat a rort. These will fetch a 97 updated model.
Yeah they should fetch around $12K.
94 - 95 models should go for round the $15K mark.

But yeah shop around because dealers always add an extra 20% min to the sales price. But yeah heaps of 95 models are goin around $15K mark and thats the blacktop engine.

if your planning to modify the 180 anyway then you might wanna get one that is slightly modded that suits you. bargain them down so you get the car with slight mods already.

ie lowering, zost, rims, boost guage, bov - this will set you back a couple of thousand if you were to do it yourself.. if you get what i mean. it could cost you more if your not the DIY type of person and would rather pay someone to fit it for ya... if you were to buy a stock one and mod it you'll end up spending more.

try to get a stock looking one cos kitted usually means damage..

try
nissansilvia.com and silviaaustralia.com
theres usually a few 180sx for sale on these sites...

:D if your not in a hurry - keep shoppin around.
took me 3-4months till i found mine :D but its well worth the wait...
