i just stumbled over a pic of a 180sx with aftermarket Nismo El Dial instrument cluster the other day and god damn it was hot! only downside was it read redline @ 6.5k instead of 7.5k. anyone know the reason for this? also, what other brands of aftermarket clusters are available for a 180sx and where can you get em?

they are probably for a 240SX USDM car. i bet the speedo was in miles with km/h right inside it

also i think the fuel and temp gauges are on the opposite side.

anyway my old S13 and MYS013s S13 had EL dials that were a perfect fit. i cant remember now where we got them, but maybe he will remember if he reads this

i was just thinking - do you think it would work if i just change the stock dash light bulbs to blue LEDs? i stripped it just now and it seems they already have a blue cover over the stock bulbs already but the light still comes out white? would coloured LEDs make any difference?

nah i dont think so

maybe if you change them to blue LEDs they might make a difference. but they will never look like EL or as bright as those dials

ebay sell el dials for the silvia.

there is also another style available, but these aren't really made anymore and are a bit expensive.

thats what i did to mine but it didn't make much difference .. :(

didn't want to change the colour but only to get better vision as the lights were too dim ...

if you want the dash lights to be brighter, get t10 wedge led lights. you can get 1 that will fit in your dash, that has 6 leds, per wedge ;)

Aint the same as the 1 I had but just as good. In kph, nismo and redlines at 7500.

Mine was the 1 that Zei described. To be honest i dont reccomend any1 getting the 240sx dials. I only got it for sumfing different, but never actually used it as i also had a speed metre.

i heard that those ones on ebay are fake as the genuine nismo ones go to 280km/h, not that it matters, but if they go up to 280km/h doesn't that mean it will read 100km/h when you're only doing 60 or something?
