Also have a look at quater mile records and you will see that all of the top guys who are similar in ET are similar in MPH.

MPH is a much better indication of the potential of a car then what the 60ft time is

previously i got a 13.4@108mph, wheelspin through 1st and a lil through 2nd and slightly missed 3rd, this was with 235rwkw@21psi

changed tune and dropped boost down to 15psi to try for better traction, got 13.2@105mph with 210rwkw

You achieve a quicker ET with less MPH how can that possibly prop up the argument that MPH is a better indicator???

If the theory that more MPH = Faster time held water you should have run a slower time...

Did your 13.2 have faster 60ft times?

Really all of the recorded times play a part of determining the performance. In NA engines I found MPH was a fairly reliable indicator, these days with turbo I don't find it as accurate as it once was.

60ft times will normally tell you if you are launching well, which takes into consideration bogging down, wheel spin, clutch slip, convertor slip, bands in auto etc.

The lower the 60ft time you can achieve the faster the ET (all other things being equal).

The mid track times (generally after most of the slipage has stopped) will give you an idea of torque production. Improvement in this area will generally come from timing or possibilly fuel.

Top end MPH will be a combination of all of the things before it. Generally if the top end MPH is down is because the engine is running lean.

The reason why I feel 60ft times are more accurate then terminal MPH in turbo engines is that NA engines tend to be far more linear in power production compared to their turbo counter part.

Have you ever noticed when you go through the lights at high RPM in a high gear your RPM is not racing up but is moving fairly slowly, this is because you have the majority of what there is to be had already.

The only thing that will alter top end speed is getting the car away quickly the quicker you you get to 60ft the faster your MPH will be at that point and the longer you have to achieve a high MPH at the end. Of course you can back off which will give you a lower MPH but if you are trying to compare times accurately against someone else you need to drive it through to the end.

182go 60ft times were very similarm off my head it was something like 2.2 ans 2.3

i got a better time with less power due to sorting out traction problems

kind of lost the brain for drag racing as ive been obsessed with drifting for the past 12 months
