hey guys...

my 180sx is blowing a lot of black smoke . When i drive regularly and then just tap the gas pedal...smoke comes out...

and sometimes when i stop at a set of lights my idle just wants to stall...sounds like its choking...and heaps of black smoke comes out...
what could be the problem..
its a sr20det

could it be a bad batch of fuel?...im gonna try flush out the vortex with ultimate..

any other ideas?...
cheers,

could be a couple of things. some of your o2 senses could not be connecting well enough and there for creating your engine to run too rich, it could also be a bad batch of fuel.

you dont have an after market filter? what does the smoke smell like? is it a strong petrol smell? at your exhaust and engine does it smell like petrol or oil???

sounds like ur backfiring, and at the lights the vaccum is pulling ur bov open.

u have an atmo bov right.get it plumbed and or spring tightened. u might be able ot preload the spring by sticking a fe washers in there

i think i might of found the prpblem guys....

my friend poured vortex 95 octane :x

we did a diagnostic test and it showed 55 so no problems..

and the ecu was most likely remapped for good fuel, cause there is a sticker on the ecu of a tuning place

so hopefully this would be solved when vortex is out of the system
