Id paint it white. It will look a lot more unified and proffessional if its the same colour as the exterior. If its black it will look like thats the colour that was under the carpet and you just left it.

Im spewing that I had to settle for grey hammertone when I did mine, as I wanted it to match the outside. Oh well, carpet is returning to mine soon.

Badhairdave has a good point with the sun reflecting. Matt is definitely the go what ever the colour may be. (darker is better)

I think the authorities might not like you pullig out the carpet becuase it exposes all kinds of places to catch yourself on in an accident.

As for the interior colour - while white or a lighter colour might look neater, pretty much any police officer who's been on the job more than an hour will be familiar with the 180, and a bright floor is going to stand out. You have pretty good tints though, and combined with some floormats it wouldn't be too noticable.

The real problem comes from the sides of the transmission tunnel - since it will be pretty massively contrasted with the dark-coloured centre console, and more probably right in the line of sight of anyone who's looking in the window...

Black is where it's at 8)

Yeah, managed to get to 95% of the sound deadener under the dash and all (i think?) of the mat thing running along the firewall.

In hindsight i really should have just taken the dash out, would have made my life a fair bit easier, but oh well. I started to mask up everything in preperation for primer and paint but it started raining. :(
Should all be done by tomorrow if not Saturday, so you can all check out my dodgy job at the BBQ.

:wink:

-edit-
Oh and does anyone happen to know what the hell this is?

It's from under the right rear speaker.

On the part it has;

17001 45V05, then under that it has, A63-000 163 5201, and under that it has 5201. It also has "Unisa jecs corporation on it if that can help.

Here is a pic i took this morning sans 2 front seats. It turned out pretty good, but the spare wheel well is quite dodgy. Might have to repray it.
