hey im new to the jap performance sceen
i am wanting to get a black 180sx round 93 model has to b 2l
i wanna kno anyones thoughts on costs of buying a 2nd hand one wat mods involved in that price
and what ppl thought are of these cars
wantin to spend 12-15 k not looking to buy now in about 3 months
any ifo would b great

To me, it seems to be a buyers market right now, and prices are plumetting.

Classifieds and forums will give you an idea of the current situation for prices VS modification levels.

$12-15k will get you most 2L 180sx (not type x though). Generally they have slight mods, including: exhaust, air filter and bov. You'd expect one in good body condition and mechanically sound. There's been a lot of cars going for really cheap on the forum so keep an eye out for them.

u mentioned the type X what exactly are the type x's and y and how r they better than normal 180's

and wat year has the 180sx embroided on the seats

Type X are 1996+ models with updated bodykit, taillights and interior with the seats you mentioned.

Bacially the type-x is just a bit more rice for a lot more money. They do come with better seats though, and generally less rust (since they're newer).

if your budget is 12-15k i would go for a type x its a 1996 and you should be able to get one for 15k. Get something in good condition and not a fixer upper, unless you know what you are doing.

Look for normal things like
- oil leaks
- signs of being drifted (under carriage damage)
- panels and join lines make sure nothing has been cut or repaired
- check wiring under dash hasnt been hacked
- tappet noise
