I got told by an alarm guy that he'd only install a 2 point imobiliser (Fuel pump, starter motor) because the 3rd point (ignition) was controlled by the car's computer and can mess things up...

Has anyone else been told this? Has anyone got ignition as one of their points? I need a 3 point system for insurance...

I'd like to go through this guy cause he's a friend of a friend and I'm getting some serious "mates rates"...

shouldn't be a problem.. as long as it's done right it can't really mess up the computer.

otherwise if in doubt use the 3rd point to cut the power to the ignition coil relay. It's less likely for someone to get around that then, and won't do any harm even if they re enable the fuel and starter.
