hi... i have my basic knowlege about cars, and their engines n shieet rite....


just a quick question.... if i get a sr20det front half cut 5speed... is that come with all the parts that i need to convert my ca18det auto into a manual sr20??? and how much am i looking in labour... is the labour very hard because i have some reletives that can do it?

Hey yeah i just got my s13 front cut converted.bought whole front cut including gear box 35oo.so yes it should come with gear box and the rest of the parts needed just make sure you specify this when you purchase front cut.labor cost me about 1500 i beleive or there bouts too it.Job took approx 9 days i specifically told them not too rush.

mate you could probably do most of the transplant yourself i gather it would really easy take out put in and the wiring shouldn't be do different but it's up to you i doing a ca18 transplant into my s12 and it is just as simple

haha havent heard those before :D

but anyways its not that hard to do, but it does require a bit of work. bolting in the engine and gearbox, and getting the necessary parts auto-manual to fit. the wiring is not too difficult, you will have to know where to splice, and you will have to use parts from the sr loom. anyhow do a search, this topic has been covered to death, so has the last sentence. :D

btw it should only take a weekend or so at a reasonable pace, providing nothing terribly wrong happens :D

The half cut will provide you with everything except the tail shaft.

The job only takes a day really :wink:

Labour costs I normally charge around the $900 mark now days.

im in da process of doin my manuel conversion in my car atm, and its relativly easy, just need to work out da wiring shit and im set as i hav no idea and bein new to the car doesnt help...lol but yeh alls u will need is that tailshaft hey
