R means revised, and refers to all SR20 S13's. P means hatchback. S is the silvia model. I'm not sure about the K,but I'm positive it doesn't mean hicas,as there are several hicas-equipped cars out there without that in their chassis code. Justin... |

you've got your P and R backwards there dude... one example: the gazelle is a PS12...they don't have an SR20,but are hatchbacks... Justin... |

nah the R is for hatchback (180SX) The P isn't for SR20 specifically, but the SR20s are PS13s, if that makes sense. There was probably a similar model change in the S12s that made them go from S12 to PS12. A CA18 Silvia is an S13 A CA18 180SX is an RS13 An SR20 Silvia is a PS13 An SR20 180SX is an RPS13 |

It means a 4wheel turning system. I was told once that stock a black top produces more power than a stock red top(due to the stock ECU), but with similar after market mods, the red top is able to pull bigger power figures Rick |

Thats the case for S14/15 VCT engines, which also have a black rocker cover; Later model S13 SR20DETs have a black top, but thats merely cosmetic (no more power) |
