I just had my exhaust system done over the weekend - argh it's so loud! I knew it would be loud, but I wasn't quite expecting it this loud!

Now for the details for those interested:
=========================
* 3 inches from the turbo back
* straight enough to look down - well not quite, but almost (half the reason it's so bloody loud)
* mendrel bends (naturally)
* 3in Stainless dump to the cat
* 3in highflow cat
* massive resonator - pretty much from the cat all the way to the muffler
* 3in highflow stainless muffler (Supercat)

I wanted it mounted up nice and high too - I didn't want to forever be scraping it on driveways, etc. They managed to keep it all above the chassis lines, so it doesn't even hang down 1mm - but there was a bit of chopping involved to get it like that. Pesky little things like the diff and stuff :-) It still pokes out the back, so I might be scraping it there, but I got in and out of my driveway without a sound, and it's a damn nasty driveway.

I asked for an especially chunky resonator because I knew it was going to be loud. In its defense, it is very quiet at idle - just everytime I put my foot down it scares me half to death. You can really feel the gain too - a fair bit in peak power, but it's very very responsive now, and it feels like it has a whole heap more torque - it's pulls far better at lower revs.

I drive an SR20det 180. Ahh, a fellow baulko man - dood where are you in baulko - we should hook up! I see a few regular silvia's and 180's pottering about - I'd probably recognise you already and just don't know you - i'm the stock-looking white 180 driver.

Actually $800 is a bit misleading - it was $800 bucks with me supplying the cat and muffler.

I picked up the 3in highflow cat new for $220, and the stainless highflow 3in muffler new for $195, so in fairness you should add those 2 to the price as well. All up around $1200. Not bad considering the only non-stainless bits are between the muffler and cat.

Just a note to you guys..

My mate up here who is selling the intercoolers (Nigel) has now also got a 3" dump/front pipe made up as a bolt on for the sr20's. 3" all the way from the back of the turbo to the cat.

Unsure of price but i know its cheap..

0408 628 323 is the best way to get hold of him or email at nigel_danson@hotmail.com

Thanks

Daniel

nope, no dyno yet. I fried my clutch the other night though, so I'm getting that done

kevlar 2 button inner-sprung clutch going in tommorrow + ultra-light alloy flywheel and an o2 rush.

Feel free to cruize by anyold time - yup it's 2153 baulko. I live on railway st just off windsor road, about 10 metres from that massive intersection with sevel hills road and old northern.

I have no idea at all of power figures, but it doesn't feel small!

Hey mate,

I didnt chase you up simply because i saw you car forsale and didnt think you would still be after one.. The ones i have on me now are either gold or green, but it wouldnt be too hard to meet up with Nigel to get a blue or red one i guess.. Price is $70 but i assure you it is far superior to the turbosmart/turboxs offerings :) Im moving to gosford this saturday so i wont be too far away from you sydney guys at last, just need to get my car sorted haha

I meant to ask nigel today what the dump pipes are selling at, but i can pretty much assure you you wont find them any cheaper.. Full 1 peice item all the way back to the cat.. Bolts striaght on :D

Give nigel a call if you want, i could probably get one off him and bring it down for you if you wanted, save you coming up here to pick it up.

0408 628 323 is Nigels number

Daniel

Will have to have a norwest meet up sometime, my g/fs parents live out that way so whenever im in sydney thats where im at.. :)
