Ive got a CA18 in my 180. all my mates have got SR20s and im sick of them baggen me out about my CA. im thinking about wacking a RB25DET in.

Has it been done b4?

How much would it cost?

Is there a lot of alterations that need to be made?

if not, what could i do to my CA that would give me the upper hand against them!!!! :D

The CA is under rated but its still no SR. Bolt on mods will net power but i dont recommend the RB conversion, note this is OPINION only as it will upset the cars natural weight balance, hence drastically affest handling due tom its front heavy weight bias.

Alternatively you could just buy an SR powered 180, or just do the turbo, exhaust FMIC etc and a chip for the CA tuned properly with some other mods it can make up near 180+rwkw, then just whack on some good suspension and brakes and voila the recipe for success!!! :D

Dont know for sure but i have heard that the rb20det is a good engine swap for the silvia and 180's. It has the cast iron block much like the CA except its two litre. Dont know how hard it is to transplant, but supposedly this is only a little heavier and helps a little for sideways action :D apart from that i dont know how the handling is but i believe this is the engine used in the drift onevia? If im wrong someone say otherwise well yeah no otherwise. Anyways dunno how much it costs or anything maybe needs to be researched? Prob easier to get a sr20 180 though 8)
