Ok well its had a just a tad bit of work done, most of the work was done back in 98 with MRT performance. This was when they were just starting to play around with rexes and well, my dads rex (whoops...i mean MY Rex now!!) was the guinea pig.

My 97' Rex:
- heavy duty clutch
- MRT front mount cooler
- MRT 3 inch exhaust turbo back
- MRT Pod filter
- T28 turbo
- sway bars
- Chiptorque computer
- 20 pound boost (oh yeah!)

and most importantly its got a sunroof.

Its bloody fast, completely different league to my 180 (I mean my old 180...*sniff*) which was pumping out 153rwkw.

Since 98-99 the car hasnt been touched and its time for a computer overhaul as the turbo is quite laggy, goes like a dog until it gets to 4500 the boost kicks and pulls hard all the way to 7000!!!

I'm aiming for low 13's and if im lucky a 12.99.

All im going to do to it is chuck on some lowered springs, and do the computer and thats it for the next couple of years.

So yeah I challenge anyone here who says they can blow away rexes with a cat back exhaust and 10 pound boost!! bring it on bitches!

hmm i need to change my avatar....and my name....RAWWRX! yeehaa!

hey sounds like a sweet (and quick) ride man.

is the t28 factory turbos? cuz if it is "far out" thats a lot of boost on factory turbos, but then again i do hear that the rexy fact. turbos can handle quite a bit and they pretty reliable as i hear....

juss a question, where did u get the work and tunning on ur 180 done, cuz if they did a good job i want to check em out cuz im looking for place to get work on my 180

thanx

Actually its a t28 equivalent sized turbo(gotta get all the details off my dad), I think I remember him saying it was made by mitsubuishi and i know for a fact it can handle upto 25pound, hell its lasted 5 years sitting on 20 pound without anything going wrong!

I got my 180 tuned in japan, its some little country up north where everyone drives crazy cars and there are lots of lights and funny dancing. You should give em a call sometime time....tell em dave sent you :D

Impressive for sure but better than an S15 with the same mods?

Take Apollo, has a factory T28 so even there. Only other mods are dump, cat back and bit more boost. Has run a strip proven 13.4 quarter mile.

Give him a big front mount to run more boost and some tuning and I guarentee it will runs in the twelves. The battle still rages!

thats true mike, but look at it this way, we are talking about straight line speed here.

I say after the straight line race we take the battle to the track, I mean thats where it really counts isnt it?? Im still running on the factory springs and shocks, its like driving on clouds compared to the ol 180.

With those upgraded and abit more tuning the results shall be veerryy interesting indeed. Till then all we can do is speculate.....

actually all this would make a great write-up article.

s15 vs WRX...the final showdown!
