Post subject:  S15 Problem!

Hi guys my adm 200sx s15 has just developed a problem.

Current Mods on Car;

HKS GTRS .86 Rear Housing
Fuel reg.
3" turbo back
front mount cooler
injectors?? purple looking ??370cc or 480cc??

When I am driving it at about 2000rpm-3000rpm and put your foot down a bit to accelerate it will struggle/cut out continuously. When i get over that rpm it will run fine and at times tend to cut out constantly. I have replaced the fuel filter, checked all vacuum lines & afm and it is all fine.

A friend of mine tells me that the previous owner must have swapped the standard S15 (480cc) injectors with the now purple injectors (S14 370cc) which is causing this to happen due to me running a standard S15 computer. If this is so then my question is that if that is the case, i have been driving my car for almost 6 months with no problems, why now?

If I buy standard S15 injectors will this fix the issue as I am on a tight budget to fix.

Its driving me insane! :-?

MERRY XMAS TO ALL IN ADVANCE!

If it has the purple injectors chances are it was originally an auto car and was converted to manual (or is still auto?)

Auto S15s have the smaller injectors.

I'd suspect an air leak or dodgy fuel pump first.
Check all the vacuum lines and intake piping, make sure the line to the fuel pressure regulator is connected and not hooked up to anything else.

Also check the spark plugs.
It's possible that it's a bad coil pack or two, or just fouled plugs.

Nah its a 6 speed and yes the injectors are purple.

I will check if there are any air leaks and the fuel pump tomorrow and keep you posted.

Doesnt hurt the change out the fuel filter and spark plugs anyways (if they are fouled).
