Hey guys,
I've been investigating on getting myself a new CAT for the S13, but my spares place quotes me $280 ex gst for a bolt on or $190 ex gst for a weld on. Is this dude trying to rip me off or is that a standard price? (Btw it's a S13 non-turbo... if that affects anything).

I also would rather purchase a bolt on, cause i don't wanna cut any pipes... or weld... cause i can't... and don't trust welding since my mates exhaust fell off about a year ago (on the way to bundeena from south west sydney and then BLONK!!!... Oh shit! There goes your exhaust!)

depends on brand size etc,
$280 sounds pretty steep im using a stainless no lable 3" cat i got threw my workshop for $60 ( i think they retail at around $120 if i remember right ) had to be modified to link up to the front pipe and cat back system with 2x 3 bolt flanges and around 3" either side of pipe to connect,

personal choice really since my car will be eventually non road registed it will end up in the bin when i substitute it for a cat delete pipe...

Btw... If i choose to de-cat in future... what would i need to be careful with if my car was re-registered?

decat pipe just replaces the section were ur cat is, if the car is road registed i wouldnt recomend cruzing around without polution gear its just not worth the fine ( still loads of people do it including myself till just recently )...

depending on who does ur pink slip they might not even notice ur using a decat pipe, and since its an easy swap ur better of just keeping an old cat to throw up there before you go for ur slip lol...

good luck

Kurtis
