My s13 has been acting very sluggish today... and it doesn't seem to go back into first (it's AT btw... not manual). Any ideas?

I know it could be the gearbox/AT... but i would like an idea on what else it could be... and how much it'd cost to fix.

Btw... i want to check the AT oil. Where is it located???

dipstick for the auto should be near the brake booster.

check that you haven't hit the hold button by mistake.

Well... i had a good check. Apparently, when asking about it could have been any one of these:
1) slipping bands
2) worn clutch
3) warn bands
4) no AT oil
5) AT leak

But what was really happening was that the valves in the AT weren't opening for the lower gear.

Just a $20 solution to fix, some AT cleaner oil, than (when possible) an AT service.

Just enter contents into where you put dipstick, with car running for about 20 mins. Go for a quick drive, and than leave it over night. when the engine cools in the night the fluid will work it's magic and voila, no more rough shifts and stuck valves. Nothing but smooth changes!

OH YEAH!
