Well after some slight drift damage i decided it was time to get stuck in and start striping my s14 out for a full respray :) also i have discovered that my engine has the common VTC rattle well i belive it is this rattle some more advice on how to confirm if it is this rattle would be highly appreciated.. iv heard some people say that it only comes when the car is in gear but iv found mine comes in after a few min of idleing away.

VCT rattle is generally only present at idle when oil pressure is lowest.

it's usually heaviest at cold start-up and will go away after a few minutes or as you rev the engine.
It's unlikely that you'd get it when driving. if you do,there's something else wrong that would likely need urgent attention.
