Hi Guys,
I wanted to seek some advice as to what front bars are out there that don’t require me to map out my rout before leaving home.
My newly acquired S13 has a JDM Aero bar on the front and the previous owner has really messed it up with several massive cracks that look non repairable.
Embarrassingly it’s so low at the moment that I can’t even get it into my shed with its 10cm front ground clearance.
I have been hunting around and used front bars seem imposable to find. I guess people usually wreck their cars from the front end.
I have found a replacement red Aero bar on feeBay that would just be a bolt on job without getting it painted, but I am hesitant to go down the same path even though I like the look.
Any suggestions?!?
ALSO my car must have the worst paint job I have ever seen and is in dire need of a respray as I am slightly embarrassed to leave home at the moment. Can anyone suggest anyone that does a GOOD/GREAT respray at an affordable price?
Cheers
Travis

hey mate. i struggled to undetstand you post. lol

there a few options in regards to your car. get your aero bar plastic welded. find a replacement stock bar or go aftermarket fiberglass. if your on a budget i reckon go for the replacement stock bar and fit it up yourself and sell your aero one.

does your car have coilovers? if it does just use a c spanner to raise the car up so you dont have the too low problem. if not source yourself some different springs so it doesnt sit so low.

for the respray just remember you get what you pay for. go get some quotes from some shops and ask them if you do all the prep work such as sanding it down and removing the dents and scratches if they will spray it for you. that will save you some money.

good luck dude.

if your car is too low. you generally raise it. not change your front bar.

and factory aero will sit higher than most aftermarket stuff anyway

can you elaborate on this. What is the difference between a expensive spray job vs the cheap one.

quality of work, and amount of time spent on the initial preparation.

prep is 90% of paintwork.

it takes time to strip, sand back, high fill, prime, base coat, flow colour, sand back colour, clear coat ,polish the clear coat, and then reassemble. and time is money. the longer it takes and the better a finish you want, the more it costs.
