hey guys i was wondering... the local gearbox place says that the 6 speed gearbox from the spec R only hold 2 litres of oil and recomends an oil cooler, are there transmission oil cooler kits available or is it sumthing ud get made custom?

it's even less than two litres IIRC,something like 1.6...

there's no off the shelf kit,you'd have to make something up.

isnt it 2.5L? the diff is 1.9L or 2.0L

well, the 5speeds are 2.5L. I recall something like 1.6L for the 6speeds, but haven't done that myself

1.8L for the six speed I think.

They don't seem to have a problem with overheating, so I'd be checking that out thoroughly before going to the effort and expense of installing a cooler.

yup the 5 speed is 2.5L the 6 speed is 1.8L

what sort of racing are you doing ? maybe consider a good quality oil

just track and hill climb for the moment, later on i want to join my mates in comp drifting.

your stock 6 speed isnt going to last very long drifting anyway :lol:

my 6 speed seems quite happy having the shit flogged out of it around a track. It does get a little touchy going into reverse at the end of a session though.

What oil has my box got in it dumhed?

6 speed and drift don't mix, don't even think about it. Or alternately think about what the box is worth right now as opposed to what it's worth with no 3rd and a bunch of teeth scattered around it's insides....
