what would you need to fix?

I hear that the more dodgy your car the more its likely to cost for a blue slip guy to look the other way.

I also hear it can cost anything from 100 bucks to 500+

if you get a dodgy and get pulled over again its money down the drain. are you sure you cant fix it legit?

If you can't handle the price of tyres, you should sell the car and buy a bicycle.

Either get new springs, or buy/borrow some standard shocks & springs and use them for the blueslip.

You can make your own airbox out of a few bucks worth of aluminium. It doesn't need to be perfectly sealed, it just needs to hide your pod.

If the problem with your exhaust system is that it's too loud, either get a new rear muffler, or get a standard system and put it on for the blueslip. If the problem is that it hangs too low, put in the standard struts and springs and it probably wont be (at least for the blueslip).

I'm pretty sure you could find some stock suspension and a stock exhaust for super cheap and install it yourself.

you can probably find a stock airbox as well, or as suggested make one out of some sheet aluminum from bunnings.

new tyres... well, everyone's gotta buy new tyres once in a while, but even there you can get second handies on the cheap.

it may even be possible to fix it all for cheaper than what a dodgy mechanic would ask of you!

good luck with it anyway, hope you are on the road again soon.

oh damn..can't afford even second hand tires for the blueslip?!..

Sounds like you're in a rush for the parts..was the defect given to you awhile ago?..

I wouldn't drive on retreaded tires. But that's just preference.

Get a rear section of the exhaust knocked up with a standard muffler at your local exhaust shop. Should cost about $80 or so. That will dramatically lower the exhaust note.

Not having a go at you, but if you cant afford to make the car safe to drive on the roads, then you shouldn't have it on the road, plain and simple, thats the reason cars in NSW have to go through blueslips!

As for retreads! Why, new tyres these days are cheap enough as it is

Get a stock exhaust system, they're everywhere if you ask around, stock springs and struts too, and put an airbox back in

Oil leaks are common in the S13 as they get older, have a look around the engine bay to see where its coming from, generally its either the rocker cover gasket or dizzy/cas seal, or front or rear main crank seals, easiest to replace in that order too, give the engine bay a good degrease and pressure wash to give you a clean area to then see where it's coming from

whats the point of reverting the car to stock just to get a blue slip then putting all your mods back on? sorta defies the point

just get a dodgey one andy

You were being a cocky smartass to a cop after being pulled over? You deserve to be defected. You make all import owners look bad
