I am looking at getting a S13 from interstate which was originally a CA, its been converted to an SR + 5 stud etc etc. It is registered interstate but has not engineers certificate.

Does anyone know if I need to get an engineers certificate to have it registered in NSW? My main concern is the SR conversion and maybe the 5 stud brakes, as they are not standard.

Anyone done this before without engineering it?

It doesn't require engineering as it is an engine that was offered in that chassis, so if it was a local car a change of records as opposed to a full blue slip is all thats needed.

As it's an interstater you are up for a full blueslip, so other than the engine swap and brakes it'd want to be stock and in VGC. The obligatory leaky timing cover and leaky gearbox output seal will fail it straight away.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of new rego as the rego of the other state will be forfeited.

well that helps alot
makes it a relatively "cheap" conversion on the rta side of things
