From memory there is a nice patch of concrete near bay st in brighton. The best time to go there would be from around 9pm till late on a friday or saturday night. Let us know how you go. :P

You'll learn more in one skidpan day than you'd learn in a year of dodgy street drifting.

If this is the same patch as what I'm thinking, overlooking the airport, it has been turned ito a desalination plant or something similar. Mind you last time I checked was a few months ago..

Autosport has a skidpan day on December 14th, $140.

Because 99% of people don't just get in a car and get how to do skids. If you go out on your own with no one who knows how to do it you will just make a meal of it and destroy a set of tyres.

We're recommending skid pan days and driver training so you get some proper advice on how to control a car.

not to mention the obvious legal aspect of 'driver training' on the street.

I'm actually booking myself in today for a skidpan training at Oran Park. its $400 per person, (i dunno if this is the one Locky was talking about) but you have a trainer in the car who teaches you about over steer, under steer, hand break turns, when the brakes lock up how to control the car etc. its an 8 hour day, and at the end you can have a bit of fun. free lunch and beverages all day:

nah i was talking about project d ( www.projectd.com.au )

there days are about 160 and have about 20ppl at them

no trainer as such but you just get to push your car and do some skids but you learn heaps in the process

more beginner drift then anything else
