hey all,

this is for my s15

ive just bought a hid kit for my car. while installing them i noticed the headlight glass is very blurry. its hard to explain, but it looks the same as it would if you put polish on the glass without rubbing it completely off.

any ideas how to fix this? it looks real dodgy how it is.

also, any s15 owners out there that are having problems putting the hid globes into the globe housing? the hole in the housing looks to be far to small to fit the hid globe?

thanks,
andy

With the S15 headlight globes, only certain brand aftermarket HID kits will just fit. Other kits may not fit very well and you'll have to file down the bulb to get it fit.

With the blurry looking headlights, you should try some quality polish. I've heard good things about Mother's Scratch X or something along those lines.

I've been using Meguiars PlastX and it helps but I wouldn't say it does an outstanding job of making them brand spanking new. I'll be buying the Mother's polish when this bottle is empty.

polish the lenses all you want,it won't change the fact that you have aftermarket HID globes in a housing designed for halogens. it'll never work 100%,the reflector design won't focus the output correctly.

as zei said, get the correct lights if you want it to be perfect.

yahoo auctions,ebay,etc...

fergo is right, will never be purfect, meguires, sonax mothers, they all have plastic polish, little bit less harsh than metal polish, you can even use toothpaste, that has very little abrasive in it but it works well, and your headlights will be minty fresh

drill a couple of small holes in the back of the light to let the condensation out. one drain hole in the bottom, and one vent hole in the back.
