Hi all,

i have two questions. first question is if you take out the plug for the VCT soliniod, will it stop my car from sounding like a diesel, or is the only way to get rid of the noise to change the VCT gear?

Also i dont want to start the whole flutter debate, but basically i am not running a BOV ATM as i got defected and im saving up for a Blumb back, hopefully i will be getting it within the month or so.
every now and then ill turn up the boost, is it ok to run with no BOV at say 20psi? im not worried about long term damage, just want to know if it will screw it up in the short term.

your second question may start a debate (more so peoples personal opinions trying to swing you there way of thinking) but until someone can show me first hand a turbo absolutely destroyed from running no BOV im gonna say yes it will be fine as i've run more boost than that on different turbo combinations and never had 1 fail me by lack of a BOV.

hope that helps and sorry to hear bout the defect dude

unplugging the VCT isn't going to fix what is essentially a hydraulic problem. either put up with it,or get it fixed.

as for the BOV question,it's been covered many a time. bottom line is that the decision is yours to run one or not. I will always run one,but what others do isn't up to me.

i totally agree with you justin about running a BOV, i hope to get get a plumb back BOV soon but i just needed to know if there has been any cases of short term damage due to not running a BOV.

i figured taking the plug out wouldnt fix it, but wasnt sure thanks for clarifing, hopefully i will also be getting that fixed in a few weeks.... it sucks to get paid monthly!!!

Ive been running no bov for the past for months or so now. Used to have a hks ssq till my new cooler kit didn't allow for a bov. I bought the plumb back piece for it just need to weld it on now. i been fart assing around though.

16psi on the stock t28bb and its been boosting as hard as before.
I'll check it out when i change the turbo at the end of the year.

Im just sick of the flutter now. want to quieten it up.
