Hey guys.

Just couple of questions, I am a Silvia newb so please bare with me....

1. The orange velor (I think) interior, door trims and seats.
Are they a special edition/anniversary option, or just merely an option.
I have heard the words "special" by salespeople and also just plainly "optional".
If it indeed was for a special or anniversary version. Which was it celebrating or what was this anniversary model called etc?
Should this add to the price and if so, how much extra?

2. What is the difference between the nissan factory aero option and the nismo aero kit?
Can someone post a pic of each?
Which is the one with the front bar that has has fog lights, side vents, and a front splitter/spoiler that has an appearance of being somewhat seperated from the rest of the bar.

3. The jap-spec has 184kw and Aus-spec having 148kw on paper, standard. What are the actual figures for each at the fly and treads?

4. I have heard some say that you should pay more for a Jap spec being a more powerful engine standard and rarity, and some saying that the local delivered versions being newer and off australianshowroom floors should cost more.
What should indeed cost more and around what price ranges for each?

5. In older cars, a sunroof serverly increases chassis flex, in newer models like the s15, is a sunroof a major compromise?
Which Jap-specs actually came with a sunroof, I read somewhere it was the 2000 only models? But I do know they are rare.

6. Who are the major importers or car yards that deal in s15s in Sydney? I am kinda looking for one (sometime in the near future, not this minute) that is red and has the aero option previously mentioned. As shown in this classified ad. (The orange interior mentioned is also pictured)

http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/inde ... pic=260757

7. Approx insurance differences for jap-spec and aus-spec. I am 25.

8. Also does anyone have a pic of the rare Autech version that was modelled after a Ferrari 456? I want to see it but google has not been much help.

Thats about it haha.
Thanks all. Appreciate any answered or corrections you can hit me with.

1. the orange (and blue, silver/grey, etc etc) are all B-Spec options, sometimes called a V-Spec i think too. its just a box that was ticked when the car was purchased in Japan. the door trim should be the same colour, if its not, then the seats have been put in afterwards. my 99 model had them.

2. a factory aero kit is VERY differernt to a nismo kit. google both. by the description you give, its the factory aero kit youre after.

3. those are the factory quoted figures. RWKW figures have maybe 10-15 difference with the JDM being higher of the two. but once you start modding and adding an aftermarket computer, the factory quoted figures mean nothing.

4. JDMs are cheaper because they are generally older, and being an import they dont hold their value. locally deilvered S15s are not classified as imports, so insurance and green slips are much easier to get, and cheaper.

5. all JDMs have the option of sunroofs, but not many have them.

6. www.carsales.com.au will have all the info you need.

7. rare autech model? do you mean the convertable S15 done by autech, or the actual autech model that has a worked NA SR20 in it but looks identical on the outside?

Thanks a heap for that ZEi20T. Answered alot of questions.

Good to know about the interior especially. A dealer I talked to used the orange interior as a special ainniversary release feature to say it was worth more that a regular jdm spec r.
There has not been an s15 anniversary release has there?

On the autech question....
I just read about a rearly rare autech s15 release that had a full restyling to be similar as a Ferrari. Not the convertable or NA version.

AFAIK there wasnt an anniversary edition. might have been the dealer bullshitting lol

dunno about that autech version. my guess is if it does exist (we dont hear about ALL JDM models) then there are none here as someone would need to smash 1 or 2 up to get a compliance plate for them.

Yea I think it may have been a car seller doing what he does best too lol.

Ah the rare autech, I wasn't after one, I'd never find one or afford it hahaha. I just wanted to see what it looked like if anyone had pics, as I had only read about it. It is something apparantly super rare like... I dunno 400R GTR or something...

Thanks again!

Firstly, Zei, you are wrong.

Secondly, I have your pictures and specs of the special Autech Style A S15!

http://www.autech.co.jp/HISTORY-SV/S15S04/s15s04_1.htm

:D

And here are some pics of one in the flesh:

http://mob.gtnet.co.jp/gt/main/syosai.a ... 1000320902

And before you get any ideas, that one I posted is ineligible for import as the build date is too late. I don't know when Autech started making them, but good luck finding one at all, let alone one that can be imported.

Ah that looks kinda sexy.
Unlike that ugly pos haha.
Don't worry I never got any scheming ideas... I knew one would be impossible to obtain, was just curious what it was.
Thanks for that "i want a silvia"...

im pretty sure the actually design of the S15 was modeled to resemble the Ferrari 456.

Here is a pic of the ferrari, sorta has the same lines.
http://www.heritageclassics.com/ferrari ... taext1.jpg

i dont mind that front bar though looks pretty cool.

i have seen a few S15's with different coloured seats, when i was looking into getting one imported i saw quite a few with blue or orange interior, the prices of them didnt vary to much from the normal spec'd S15's

Maybe it is just my bad luck in googling. But I still cannot find a pic of the Nismo front bar. It always leads me to pics of the Nissan aero kit.
Can someone have pity and link me a pic please?
Are the originals carbon fibre? I read somewhere they were. Or were they, or could you also get them in plastic?
