I've run S14 rims on and off for the last 18 months

No problems

Offset is even queerer than stock S15 rims though

Offset is not 'queerer', you have it the wrong way around. Be it that both S14 & S15 wheels are 6.5" wide. The S14 wheel will sit 5mm closer toward the guard than factory S15 wheels.

There will be no clearance issues running either wheel on an S15 or S14 with the stock strut.

agreed. it's actually an upgrade, albeit an extremely minor one.
10mm wider track all 'round.

Thats why when you see the heap of S14's around with S15 rims, they look shite. low offset + big S14 guards = :(
