what's the best way to go? do some advanced driver training and learn to make the best of what you have.

as has been said,engine swaps and obvious mods are illegal for you anyway,so forget the dreams now,and resign yourself to the fact that you're going to be driving std cars for three years. if/when you survive that probationary period you can then buy a real car and can modify it.

in the meantime,do what the system is encouraging you to do: learn to drive properly in a normal car before getting into something more powerful. learn to crawl before you try olympic sprinting.

even if it were legal what kind of question is this?

2jz = 3L

Rb20de = 2L

BIIIGG DIFFERENCE in capacity, and in power

What kind of answer is that?

Displacement isnt everything.

if you got the money to do a 2jz conversion.. id say keep that money learn how to drive like what justin said and in the mean time save up that money...

by the time you know it you be in a car you want... dont be impatient you make mistakes.

alright. as to the guys who tell me engine swaps are a problem. im in qld. and i just seen the department of transport.....they say theres no probs in doin an engine swap. as long as its not a v8, or has forced induction. ive already covered this shit. and seriously. like an sr20de is going to give me the power output needed to slide. and have the versatility once im on an open licence.

why wont an SR20 give you enough power to 'slide'

just brake hard you can slide off the road and die.

we have several NA members that attend drift days and have no problems getting an SR20DE sideways

sr20de would have more balls than an rb20de as well.

Maybe if you considered an r33 spec rb25de you could get a bit more out of it but when talking NA capacity will generally win the fight so 2j if you can.

also don't forget that ae86's have been sliding longer than s13's and they are only 1.6 NA nuggets. It's all about speed and setup.

you have less power already, why would you want to suck more of it with a torque converter!

How about you put some information in your initial post rather than bagging everyone for not knowing everything about your car

You have asked a stupid question. You got the answers you deserve.

thanks man. already got a mini-spool and tien coilovers. and no backseat and boot lining. so all the easy shit was done first. just the performance side is looking to be a bit of a bitch.
and i wasnt "bagging" people out for me not posting it as an auto" im sorry silvia god will you please forgive me for i have sinned

and an rb20 will have more torque due to the fact it has 2 extra pistons. its not all about displacment. look at like 6 litre v12's that are shitting on 7litre v8's
