Well, its not the bearings.

If you want any more help than that, you'll need to go into a bit more detail

if the noise goes away when u put ur foot on the clutch then with the limited description i'd say its your throwout bearing, no not the ones in the gearbox, the one that applies pressure from the clutch fork to the pressure plate of the clutch...

but as for why it gets louder with the aircon on...thats an odd one lol! considering the aircon is far away from the gearbox :P

Do you have an ORC super single?
They rattle when you have your foot on the clutch....

sorry to hi jack the thread but i got a wierd problem where when i start my car put it into gear and then release the clutch, the clutch vibrates a little and makes a buzzzing noise. it only seems to happen when the car is cold though.

Not to worried about it since it only happens when starting the car but would like to know if this happens to anyone else . It is an exedy heavy duty organic clutch with rigid flywheel.

Crank bearings :o

last time i ran accross somthing like this on a nissan xtrail it ended up being that the crank bearing wear grooved.

but meh.. could be anything at this stage.

yeah mine has been happening since i put in the exedy clutch, that was nearly 8 months ago and it hasnt got any better or worse so im not really to worried about it.

Would it have something to do with going from a dual mass flywheel to a rigid flywheel?

Count me in on this too. Been happening to my car too. Also running an excedy HD clutch. And i also hear a light rattle when clutch isnt in. Was told maybe the clutch plate is loose. But whatever it is im gona get my clutch changed soon so hope they can find the problem when they take all that stuff out.

im replacing my gearbox and clutch setup to try getting rid of this noise, ive been told when you replace the factory dual mass flywheel with a rigid flywheel the rattles start, the dual mass flywheel has cushion springs and rubbers that reduce the noise to a minimum

yeah theh dual mass flywheel will most likely fix the problem but for the price of a new dual mass i would rather stay with the rigid
