Has anyone fitted a power FC on the Australian S15? I was wondering, coz they said it's not a straight forward installation. The wiring needs to be modified somehow.
I got full 3" exhaust, air intake pod, fmic. If I get the Power FC, do I still need boost controller? What kind of power output can I expect from this? My friend is selling the Power FC and hand controller for $2200 brand new. Is this a good price?
Any input would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

I haven't got the power FC, I am not sure if I will cause its a lot of money. You do need a boost controller as the core power FC unit will not calibarte boost. You can either go for a boost controller or a Power FC boost unit which plug straight into the Power FC. I think the Power FC boost unit cost over one grand.

You should get it from a place which already knows how to program the Power FC for the Aussie S15. Unless you are a top notch engine mechanic, its bloddy hard and dangerous to work out by yourself the correct settings needed.

xze81t which tuner are you using?

the crank angle sensor pins need to be swapped over.
the fuel pump pin does not adequately ground the fuel pump
relay. you'll either need to ground the fuel pump pin or connect
the powerfc to a smaller relay that will ground the fuel pump relay.

$2200 is a fair price since the pfc unit retails at about $2000 with
the hand controller going for $700.

Wow,.. changing some wires for the power fc is not that simple, right? I rather get someone to do it for me. Any recommendation, guys? Croydon or C&V?
I was told that with a hand controller, I can change the boost setting. But I also notice that there is a separate plug for the boost controller. So, I think I'll need a boost controller afterall.
Thanks a lot for the input guys. I hope we can meet up on a cruise day or somethin.

There is a boost control kit available on the power fc, it will cost you extra. Then you can intergrate your boost control in the same box, it has a nice boost cut/fuel cut feature when you have the control kit hooked up to it.

I'm still deciding.. lol
I dunno for sure for now..
But I think I'll be goin wif my mate from ART melb..
not enuff ground for the relay eh... hmm...
With the boost controller soleniod it'll set ya back around $600
Good as it might be.. it doesn't have alot of features comp to the AVC-R
ie boost levels in different gears, boost at different RPM... etc...

well if u were to change the wires at the loom then it's not hard.
croyden can do it but they wanted $250.
hmm i've been deliberating about boost control for the pfc for a while
now. i know that the factory ecu controls the boost solenoid so i don't
see why the pfc can't do the same. but, so far everyone i've asked
says that it can't control boost without the optional boost module.
other models, eg for the rx7 can control boost using the
factory solenoid - the boost module is only needed for running
boost higher than 1 bar.
the boost module uses the same solenoid as the avcr but the
level control is not as grainular as the avcr. it would be better to
get the avcr instead since it's only slightly dearer. the only thing is
that installing the avcr will requiring splicing of the ecu loom whilst
the pfc boost module is a plug-in.
XZE81T - you're going to melbourne to get it tuned?
D.3.V.I.L - for the s15 is 3 wires (CAS- 2wires) and (fuel pump relay - 1 wire) not sure for the s14, i thought it was straight plug in.
