Does anyone have any website's or contact's for Japanese Car Exporter's or Auction Buyer's? Ie. You pay a dude in Japan 100,000Yen to buy your specified vehicle at auction, then get it on the ship etc.?

Thanks.

Nar, not Australian based ones like J-Spec and Prestige, but Japanese based ones so that you don't have to pay the $1100 agent's fee at this end. Even if you go with J-Spec or Prestige you have to pay 80,000 - 100,000 Yen for the Japanese Agent which is included in the FOB price.

nah man, it is highly unkikely that someone would do something like that for free. even if you pay the agents fee, you are saving dollars compared the the dealer's cars.

Have a look at the RTA website and you will find something really ineresting, I don't know if I read it the wrong way but...
They say if you personally import a car there is no need to comply it, you just need it to be roadworthy, ie. blue and pink slip.
So weigh up how much you pay for compliance and delaer commision then compare to a plane ticket to Japan.
The only other think is unless you can speak fluent Japanese you will need to find a english speaking car yard or private sale there.
Just something to consider, I know it is a bit much, but the main advantage is you can see and drive the car yourself before you fork out 10-20,000+.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I think you are right dude, but the only catch is to get import approval under a "personal import" you have to have owned the car for 12months and resided in the other country before importing it to Australia. And they are heaps strict on this, you have to show rent reciepts, passports and heaps of other stuff to pass.

I though it was a bit too good to be true.
Only thing i can suggest is start getting some pen pals in Japan, hehe.

With personal imports you have to actually live in the country where you purchased the car for 12 months. I did it with an evo 4 lancer years ago and its a pain in the ass.
