Well its been 13 weeks today since i bought my fresh import silvia for 7grand. I was trying to sell it but had a full checkup done and found out i might already be running one of the faster non-turbo silvia's around. Anywho... i havent been driving it very look and wanted to know where is the max torque?? I feel like its alomost redline but have been told thats not true. also how much have people been quoted for a full rebuild of the engine? Is it worth doing?

I believe max torque is at about 6000 revs, or maybe higher.. With mods it's probably gonna be at at least 6500...

I probably wouldn't do a rebuild when you can get whole engines for $750...

If your wanting a motor rebuilt your better off just getting a new one... get a S14 Black Top SR20DET :smile:

U wouldnt stuff around rebuilding a jap import motor, Sooo not worth it!

If u had it checked up is it still runnin stock cams?? If not the ones in there sound like they are designed to make high top end power hence the torque at the quoted 7500rpm.

Yea i think it is made for top end speed (damn!!) anywho how much are one of them s14 motors?

wanna sell your old engine? or bit of it :>

Someone was advertising S14 engine, box, and ECUs for $2500 a short while back..

well i will once i find myself a new one! but damn 2.5k is a heap of money... think i'll just keep the good non turbo for now!
