Problems I've had with the car so far are:
- Hollowed out cat converter
- Car running lean (when the conversion to the SR20DET from the CA18DE the fuel pump wasn't changed over)
- Got some rust on the roof at the back of the sunroof and abit on the right hand side rear panel
- Rear struts on front of the car which buckled the strut towers
- Wastegate not controlling boost

Mods it had when i brought it:
- FMIC
- Turbosmart BOV
- Internal Wastegate welded shut and Tial 38mm External wastegate put on
- Motosports Turbo Timer
- Pod Filter
- Brass button clutch
- Standard T28 Turbo & internals

Mods I've done:
- AMA Motorsport Fuel Pump (Car's no longer running lean)
- New fuel relay running off the battery
- Tial wastegate removed & Turbosmart Pro Gate 38 external wastegate added (boost still not being controlled but vacuum line is attached to BOV line so I have to re-run the line)
- BC Racing Coilovers
- Turbosmart Tee Boost controller

What I plan on doing in future:
- Bigger turbo (unsure what one as of yet)
- Bigger injectors
- New FMIC
- Turbosmart Dual Port BOV
- Turn it into a track car of some sort

Some pics of the car

You've made a good start, but those wheels need to go. I'd hate to think what they weigh.

It's not just that they add to the total weight of the car (which is bad), it's that they're unsprung weight (i.e. not suspended by the suspension). If you're interested in a quick read about why excessive unsprung weight is bad, check out this article. Basically what it boils down to is that some unsprung weight is necessary, but it should be kept to a minimum in a performance car.

To make matters worse, heavy wheels add to your rotational mass. In an ideal theoretical scenario, you'd have no rotational mass but it in practice that's not possible, so you want as little as possible. Inertia is your enemy! The less rotational mass you have, the faster you can accelerate and brake.

In short, you want to shoot for as little unsprung, rotating weight as possible.

Don't freak out though. You don't have to go crazy and get a few extra jobs so you can afford carbon fibre wheels. Most modern alloy wheels will do. Ideally, you want something that's about 8" wide. A set can usually be had for a few hundred bucks.

Fair enough, I probably should of looked into it more before i went out and brought them, the ones I have at the moment are 7.5" wide so i only need to go abit wider..just need to look at ones that are lighter than those I have now. Probably doesn't help with the weight when the inner rim is also complete chrome

chrome coatings themselves aren't the problem, they're only a fraction of a mm thick. it's the design of the wheel itself, and what they're made of.

chunky designs of solid cast alloy = bad.
thin-spoked forged alloy and spun rims with magnesium content = good.

ah ok ill look into it over the net few days and find lighter ones...also quick question, I brought a fuel pressure regulator after a mate of mine advised me to get one to resolve the problem of the car running lean, but the problem was fixed by changing the fuel pump.
So im just wondering is it worth putting on the regulator or not?

You can change pumps all you want, provided the pump you put in flows enough.

If you add the regulator, you'll need to get the car tuned which is going to cost you about $1000 (and between $250 and $1000 for a tunable ECU).

The reason you need to retune for a regulator change, but not a new pump can be seen below:

Any excess fuel that the pump provides simply flows through the regulator and back into the tank (via the return line).

To understand why changing regulators without retuning is bad, we also need to talk about injectors. Injectors are instructed by the ECU to open for a specific amount of time. The problem is, if you increase the fuel pressure, the injectors will still open for the same amount of time and you'll end up running rich.

Damn should of asked before i went out & brought it, oh well, also I should ask this before I run out and buy the wrong wheels again, I've found a set of Osaka racing lightweight wheels that i can get in either 17x7 or 18x7.5, these would be okay right?

In short, no.

The widths are too small. Those wheels would sit too far inside the guards on an S13. For an S13, you could run almost 9.5" wheels with an offset as low as +15 without needing to roll the guards.

I've never heard of this brand, have you got a link?

Keep an eye out for a second hand set here and at nissansilvia.com

They don't need to be pretty, just relatively light multi-spoke wheels in 17x8 or 8.5. You can go wider, but it's not really necessary unless you're making a stupid amount of power or you're after a particular look.
