Yeah the wheels are multistud to fit 4 or 5, the middle of it is sunk in abit so I need to buy smaller lugnuts because I cant fit a 19mm socket in the whole way to tighten up the nut

rather than get smaller lugnuts, why dont you get a deep socket 19mm?

This is one of those times where I merely think dammit why didn't I think of that idea, it'd be cheaper and easier, thanks for that.

:D no probs. i needed to get a deep socket when i bought BHDave's old rims. it has come quite in handy for other things on the car as well.

I've already bought my deep socket 19mm... didn't think that was your problem though! I misread it to think that your studs were actually too short and needed to be lengthened!

Gotta love the forums :D

Yeah the studs were too short and I couldn't fit the wheels on because the brakes took up so much of the stud, so I had to buy longer ones so that fixed that problem, but on inspection last night it seems a deep socket 19mm isn't going to help me :( it's not that the 19mm is too short, it's too wide to fit into the hole, a 17mm is the biggest that will fit in.. looks like I'll be needing to buy new lugnuts

yeah thats what i got, 13/16". same size as 19mm.

just try it Vitty. go to a auto store and ask to test fit the socket to it. i did it at auto1, i asked if i could test fit it before buying and they said ok.

im pretty certain that you'll be able to find a socket that will fit in there.

or you can test with mine if you want. PM if you wanna try it out

13/16" is 21mm. 19mm is closer to 7/8"

I've got a 5/8 spark plug socket and it's just small enough to fit in, so hopefully the bigger one will fit in alright, have to wait & see.

Edit: pics of the GTR Brakes

Decided to just get a whole bunch of new lugnuts instead of worrying bout trying to find the right size socket, went to see a guy who made up custom ones to fit

Now thats all sorted I just need to get the calipers and then I'll move onto fixing up the roof..which should hopefully be here on tuesday, I'm not counting on it though.

Also took out the front reo bar and now the front bar's off I'll take off the front quarter panels and put on the frp panels I got when I brought the car, apparently they're from America but I'm not sure of the brand

Finally got around to putting on the quarter panels, they leave abit of a gap between the top & the bonnet but hopefully I should be able to push them in abit before I drill the holes for them

Post subject:

It's going to be a track only car, was going to keep it as half half, but after the bulls*it with the DECC I cancelled my rego n stripped out the interior.

yeah they're a bit stretch lol

they got any good/legal tread on them?
if u were to sell, how much for the 215/45.

Author:  Vitty [ Sat Jul 04, 2009 7:03 pm ]
Post subject:

The guy I brought them off reckons they have about 70% tread on them and it looks about right, there's abit of wear on the outer edges but the middle still looks pretty meaty.

PM sent about price.
