Been stripping more stuff out of the car, took out the all the aircon bits, the bracket for the compressor & removed the condenser, brought an air compressor & air chisel to get rid of the sound deadening
so far I've done the part of the drivers side, and most of the passenger side front, after getting the majority of it off with the chisel I'm using a wirebrush attachment for the grinder to get rid of anything left over.

Then I'm working my way round the car and cleaning out the back before cleaning up the rest of the drivers side/under dash then when its all cleaned up I'll get a spray gun & respray the interior black.

How long has it taken with the air chisel?

Am going to do this but was going to use cold ice... unless someone else can suggest an easier way!

Didn't take long at all, i did pretty much the whole passenger side in like 30 mins I think..it comes off in nice big chunks & barely effort involved.. grinding all the leftover stuff off with a grinder takes awhile though

Does dry ice just get into the glue stuff and lift it up?

Well apparently it is, the strut towers were taking the impact of the bumps etc instead of the springs (kinda explains why going over bumps/potholes was abit rough in the car).

There's abit of dodgy work thats been done to this car..when the sr20 conversion was done, the ca18 radiator was left in, but it wasn't bad the car never overheated, and of course not changing the fuel pump from a DE to a DET so the car leaned out badly at the last dyno day

Update:

Finally brought some new wheels, Sparco Racing, Fronts: 17x8 Rear: 17x9 (unsure of the offset) from a seller on NS.com, drove to melbourne to pick them up and came back today, brought a set of R32 GTR front brakes from a shop in rydalmere & redrilled them to four stud, put them on the car only to find out the studs were too short and so i had to buy longer ones, f**kers aren't real cheap either now just have to buy the calipers.

Brought a 1.5L surge tank & external pump, figured it couldn't hurt after the beating the engine has taken, should hopefully get my roof from japan at the end of this month..the 3 week wait I was told of has now blown out to 3 months apparently due to them not having one in stock and needing to make one.

I'll have to post up pictures later as there is a problem with the upload link.

I did my sound deadening recently. Dry ice is the simplest thing to use. Only limitation is getting it on the vertical parts of the interior. For that I just got a heat gun and scraper. Came off easily but leaves residue. To get the residue off I used turps. Got mine pretty clean! Put all the bits into the bag and whilst i haven't weighed the bag, it feels like 10kg minimum.

Are your wheels multistud? May be worth going 5 stud.

Yeah the wheels are multistud to fit 4 or 5, the middle of it is sunk in abit so I need to buy smaller lugnuts because I cant fit a 19mm socket in the whole way to tighten up the nut :x Mind if I ask why you think it would be worth going to five stud? (it's probably something simple that I'm just too much of an idiot to realise :P)

Yeah the sound deadening weighs quite alot, I've pretty much got mine done but I'm not bothering to fix it completely until I get the new roof, cause the sunroof has sunk & rain keeps flowing in n leaving water n small bits of rust everywhere

I bought some new hubs with bearings pressed from the US off ebay. Just replaced my originals with these and now have 5 stud all around with new bearings. It was very easy.

Actually if you already have the wheels then it may not be worth it for you as it will mean you will need to redrill the rears. I needed wheels and could not find any in 4 stud so bought new hubs to go 5 stud.

Yeah I'll probably just stay as 4 stud seeing as I got the wheels to fit it and I've already redrilled the fronts to 4 stud & no point in spending money on something that already works, that money can go towards buying a new turbo to make sure the car starts ok after I've cut all the redundant wiring from under the dash.

rather than get smaller lugnuts, why dont you get a deep socket 19mm?

This is one of those times where I merely think dammit why didn't I think of that idea, it'd be cheaper and easier, thanks for that.
